MYOB AccountRight Live Updates

If you’re an MYOB AccountRight Live user you need to update to 2014.2, as earlier versions have been decommissioned. As MYOB are updating and improving the product all the time it keeps you working with the most optimum version.

AccountRight Live is quite different to web based products like MYOB Essentials and Xero in that you can work in the product offline or online. And so you need to actually install the software on each machine you want to work on.

This means that when updates happen it’s not a seamless process that happens in the background like it is with web based programs, which can be a bit of a pain if you have multiple users and multiple computers as they all need to be on the same version.

Occasionally you might find that the update needs to be done at an inopportune time, such as when you want to log in to quickly check something, only to find that someone else in the office has upgraded the file and so you are forced to do so as well before you can get in.

But it’s a relatively simple process to update and the flexibility to use it offline or online is one of the features that make it work really well for some businesses. So what needs to be done needs to be done.

AccountRight Live is possibly a good option if you are already using MYOB as you can keep all your data and upgrade your existing data to the new version, you can get bank feeds which can save a lot of time in data entry, and you can have the option of working while away from the office.

There are some other computer spec things to consider. Absolutely test your internet speed (speedtest.net), you want your minimum upload speed to be 0.5Mbps. Your computer needs to have 4GB of RAM and a Processor speed of 2.1Ghz Core 2 Duo for optimal performance.

If you’re not sure if it’s worth it to you to upgrade, or if you want to talk about your options, then we can help you nut out a solution that works for you. There are many different options and we are experts in MYOB, Reckon and Xero (including WorkflowMax).
